Strategy tips

Don't treat dialect vocabulary as an error. Regional words and voseo forms are correct Spanish: listening passages will test whether you can follow them, not "fix" them.

Sort culture into the 3 P's. When a question describes a custom or celebration, decide whether it's asking about the product, the practice, or the perspective: that usually points to the answer.

Watch for language-contact vocabulary. Terms like préstamo, spanglish, and bilingüismo appear often when a source discusses how Spanish and English (or Spanish and indigenous languages) interact.

Read the explanations even when you're right. Each one reinforces a fact or vocabulary word that often returns in a different form on the exam.
