Strategy tips

Decide constant difference vs. constant ratio first. Equal differences over equal intervals mean linear; equal ratios mean exponential. This single check answers many Unit 2 questions.

Use the inverse relationship. To free an exponent, take a logarithm; to free a log, rewrite in exponential form. Then apply the log properties.

Check the domain of every logarithm. Arguments must be positive: reject extraneous solutions.

Read the explanations even when you got it right. Each reinforces a rule that tends to reappear in a slightly different form.
