Strategy tips

Always compare Q to K to predict direction. This single comparison answers most equilibrium-direction questions on the exam.

Leave pure solids and liquids out of equilibrium expressions. Only gases and aqueous species belong in K or Q.

Remember temperature changes K itself; concentration and volume changes only shift the position of equilibrium (not K).

Read the explanations even when you got it right. Each one teaches a small fact that often returns in a different form on the exam.
